QA Specialist

Overview

HumanSignal is hiring QA Specialists to support an audio and video data processing project. This is a hands-on role focused on working with recorded media files, aligning audio and video, trimming recordings, and performing quality checks using Label Studio and established processing guidelines.

The work is detail-oriented and well-suited to candidates with experience in data annotation, media editing, quality assurance, or anyone who is tech-savvy, organized, and comfortable working with digital tools.

What You'll Do

• Retrieve audio and video recordings from designated storage locations and import them into Label Studio.
• Synchronize multiple recordings by aligning footage and audio waveforms to the correct timestamps.
• Trim recordings to the required start and end points while preserving relevant content.
• Follow playbooks for media alignment, trimming, file naming, export settings, and file size requirements.
• Check files for missing media, synchronization issues, incomplete recordings, and other inconsistencies.
• Save, export, and organize completed files in the required formats and submission workflows.
• Troubleshoot basic processing or platform issues and escalate problems when needed.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency while meeting daily processing and quality targets.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and recurring issues to the team.

Requirements

• Comfort working with digital tools, new software, platforms, and media workflows.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established guidelines with minimal supervision.
• Resourceful problem-solving approach and willingness to flag issues early.
• Clear communication around progress, blockers, and concerns.
• Ability to handle repetitive, detail-heavy tasks while maintaining quality and deadlines.
• Experience with data annotation, quality assurance, audio/video editing, or media processing is a plus but not required.

Details

• Contract duration is to be confirmed during the recruitment process.
• Hours: up to 40 hours per week.
• Schedule includes occasional evening and weekend availability.
• Location: remote US role with a team based in Hoboken, NJ and surrounding areas.
