AI Filmmaker

Overview

Rex is hiring an AI Filmmaker to create story-driven short films of up to 10 minutes each in English, designed for social platforms such as X and TikTok. This role is available in all countries and is paid on an hourly basis, with compensation varying by experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do

• Develop short films end to end, including story concept, script, AI visual generation, storyboarding, video generation, and post-production editing.
• Use AI tools to produce fully generated films with consistent characters and scenes across shots and across episodes.
• Review AI-generated images and video clips for visual quality, character consistency, and storytelling impact, then regenerate or revise content as needed.
• Create and maintain production materials such as script drafts and revisions, concept designs, master images, blocking diagrams, director-level storyboards, execution prompts, and generation logs.
• Document review cycles and targeted revision rounds, and provide structured written feedback on tools and outputs.
• Follow project guidelines, participate in calibration and review sessions, and apply feedback to maintain quality standards.

Who We're Looking For

• A portfolio of completed, purely AI-generated short films with clear storylines; drama, fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, or twist-driven stories are preferred.
• Strong storytelling ability for social platforms, including a hook in the opening seconds, fast pacing, and memorable moments.
• Proven ability to take a project from idea to final cut independently, as a creator, director, or small team.
• Original files and project files that are kept and traceable, with willingness to share works and production-process data once authorization is confirmed.
• Ability to deliver multiple videos on an ongoing basis.
• Fluent written English.
• Reliability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Published AI story content on X, TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts.
• Experience using multiple AI image, video, and audio tools within a single workflow.
• Experience directing or supervising a production team.

• Do not submit material covered by employer, client, or third-party confidentiality obligations, or material you do not have the right to share.
• Do not submit export-controlled, military, or defense-related technical data.
• Remove credentials, secrets, and personal data from anything you submit.
• Rex may request proof of ownership or licensing, verify submissions, and reject or remove submissions if needed.

Legal and Compliance

• All submitted content must be lawful and must be shareable under the applicant's rights.
• Do not submit confidential or proprietary material belonging to an employer, client, or third party, or personal data without a lawful basis.
• Rex may verify identity, credentials, ownership, and licensing, and may reject, remove, or report unlawful submissions as required.
• Engagement and payment are subject to verification and applicable sanctions, export-control, tax, and employment laws.
• The contractor agreement will define ownership and license terms for delivered work, to be confirmed by Rex Legal.
