Overview
micro1 is seeking 10 Lawyer/Legal Writers for a remote contractor engagement supporting an evaluation and analysis project for advanced AI system development. The work centers on assessing written legal content and helping improve model outputs through careful legal judgment, not providing legal advice or representation.
This is an evaluative role with no attorney-client relationship. The core of the work is to judge whether writing is precise, properly qualified, appropriate for its audience, and free from unsupported or exaggerated claims.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and compare multiple AI-generated responses to legal and technical prompts for clarity, tone, and instruction compliance.
- Assign quality scores and write detailed rationales for your assessments.
- Identify language that sounds authoritative but is imprecise, overstated, or unsupported.
- Spot inconsistencies, ambiguities, and factual inaccuracies in digital content.
- Record findings carefully in online review platforms.
- Work asynchronously with project managers and reviewers to keep evaluation standards consistent.
- Manage your work independently while meeting project deliverables and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- English as a first language or fully equivalent written fluency.
- A qualifying law degree from a university in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
- Experience drafting briefs, motions, memoranda, legal opinions, or regulatory submissions.
- Background reviewing, editing, or supervising legal writing by junior lawyers, trainees, or paralegals.
- Ability to assess whether content is tailored appropriately for legal, regulatory, client, or public audiences.
- Strong attention to detail, critical analysis, and written communication skills.
- Experience with digital document review platforms or annotation tools is desirable; familiarity with model evaluation or RLHF is a plus.
