Overview
TransPerfect is seeking a remote freelance Literary Content Localization & Quality Evaluation Specialist for a short-term project focused on adapting literary content for North American readers. The assignment is estimated at approximately 3 hours total, with an ASAP start date and a flexible schedule to complete the work as soon as possible.
This role involves reviewing and improving narrative content such as novels, scripts, and related materials, with an emphasis on localization, storytelling quality, and reader experience.
What You'll Do
- Adapt and localize literary content for North American audiences.
- Review and improve plotlines, character development, dialogue, pacing, and narrative flow.
- Evaluate novels, scripts, and other narrative materials for quality and readability.
- Support novel-to-script adaptation and script review tasks.
- Perform content labeling and other quality evaluation activities as assigned.
- Provide thoughtful feedback aimed at improving the overall reader experience.
- Complete assigned work within the required timeline while maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements
- Have lived, studied, or worked in North America for an extended period.
- Strong understanding of North American language, culture, idioms, and writing conventions.
- Excellent written English skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in one or more of the following: creative writing, novel writing, screenwriting, online literature, short dramas, comics, short-form video storytelling, or editorial/literary content creation.
- Ability to analyze and improve narrative structure and storytelling.
- Availability to complete the assignment as soon as possible.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with overseas short-drama platforms.
- Experience with AI data labeling, content moderation, model evaluation, or prompt writing.
- Chinese language proficiency.
- Experience adapting or localizing content for different audiences.
- Background in publishing, editing, journalism, or related creative industries.
