Overview

micro1 is seeking Clinical Publications Authors for a customer project focused on developing advanced AI-assisted tools for medical and scientific writing. This is a remote contractor opportunity with 50 openings. The work centers on helping train next-generation AI systems using high-quality, real-world expertise from clinical publication professionals.

What You'll Do

• Author and review evaluation tasks grounded in peer-reviewed journal manuscripts, scientific abstracts, conference posters, and presentation decks.
• Assess whether AI-generated draft sections follow publisher formatting expectations, journal guidelines, and publication ethics standards such as ICMJE, GPP, and relevant EQUATOR Network reporting guidelines including CONSORT and STROBE.
• Evaluate scientific accuracy in manuscripts, abstracts, and discussion sections, including whether apparent issues are true data-interpretation or medical-reasoning errors versus style or editorial preferences.
• Verify publication claims against source records such as Clinical Study Reports, protocols, and Tables, Figures, and Listings.
• Write clear, structured rationales that explain assessment decisions and support AI model improvement.
• Work with project leads to refine evaluation criteria and document best practices for scientific publishing workflows in AI development environments.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of dedicated medical or scientific publication authoring experience in a sponsor, CRO, MedComms agency, or independent consulting setting.
• Experience lead-authoring or managing peer-reviewed manuscripts published in reputable biomedical or clinical journals.
• Strong working knowledge of publication guidelines, copyright compliance, and journal submission workflows.
• Ability to interpret complex clinical data, including Tables, Figures, Listings and statistical analysis plans, and convert them into publication-ready narratives.
• Exceptional written communication skills and experience delivering structured, actionable feedback on scientific drafts.
• Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine, or equivalent depth of authoring experience.
• Therapeutic area experience across multiple clinical phases; oncology, immunology, and rare diseases are especially valued.
