Overview
micro1 is engaging Civil Engineers for a high-impact customer project focused on training next-generation AI systems. This is a contractor role with remote work, and no prior AI experience is required.
Experts will contribute domain knowledge to help shape how models learn, reason, and perform through realistic engineering input. Scope of Work
- Design authentic civil engineering evaluation tasks that reflect real-world complexity across structural design, transportation, water systems, and site development.
- Source, generate, and curate technical materials such as engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, specification sheets, cost estimates, and regulatory code references.
- Develop challenging technical problems that require nuanced constraint reasoning and code compliance.
- Determine the correct engineering solution for each task while satisfying relevant regulatory and geometric constraints.
- Build detailed, multi-item rubrics for LLM-based assessment of technical correctness and code adherence.
- Create and validate high-volume, realistic data files such as CSVs, PDFs, and spreadsheets that resemble typical project documentation.
- Work with project stakeholders to refine task clarity, realism, and evaluation standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional civil engineering experience across diverse domains.
- PE licensure or active pursuit of licensure strongly preferred.
- Strong experience preparing and managing technical documentation, including code compliance and design specifications.
- Ability to source and interpret regulatory codes and integrate them into technical solutions.
- Experience generating or reviewing technical artifacts such as drawings, reports, and evaluation datasets.
- Ability to reason through complex constraints and apply real-world engineering practice.
- Strong written communication skills for creating clear, comprehensive evaluation materials.
