About this opportunity

Overview

DATAmundi is seeking United States-based contributors who are fluent or near-native in English for a remote data collection project. The work involves capturing high-quality smartphone photos of everyday objects, adding basic item information, and including a corresponding product or reference URL where applicable. This is a flexible freelance opportunity that can be completed on your own schedule, with an expected commitment of about 20 hours per week and a short-term project duration.

What You'll Do

  • Take clear, high-quality smartphone photos of everyday objects.
  • Photograph items across common categories such as household goods, electronics, clothing, food, books, toys, tools, outdoor items, signs, and other everyday products.
  • Provide the required metadata for each submitted image.
  • Include a valid product or reference URL when required for an object.
  • Follow project-specific photography and quality guidelines.
  • Review QA feedback and resubmit assets when corrections are needed.
  • Work with the project team to follow an agreed weekly delivery schedule.

Requirements

  • Must currently reside in the United States.
  • Must be fluent or near-native in English.
  • Must have a smartphone capable of taking clear, high-quality photos.
  • Must have access to a variety of everyday objects that can be photographed.
  • Must be able to follow detailed project and quality guidelines accurately.
  • Must be reliable and able to commit to a weekly asset-delivery schedule.
  • Must complete the required consent and agreement documentation before starting.
  • No professional photography or prior AI data collection experience is required.

Scope of Work

The current target is approximately 100 to 400 approved photos or assets per week, depending on language, project priority, and contributor availability. There is no fixed hourly schedule, and contributors may submit additional qualifying assets throughout the project, subject to project guidelines and QA approval. The current project deadline is October 30, 2026, though timing may change depending on overall asset delivery.

Compensation

Compensation is paid per approved asset at a rate of $1.50 USD per approved asset. Only assets that meet the project quality requirements and pass QA are eligible for payment. At the expected productivity rate, this may work out to roughly $23 USD/hour, although actual earnings will depend on the number of qualifying assets completed and approved.
