Overview
micro1 is seeking 100 Software Engineers for a contractor role focused on helping train next-generation AI systems. The work is remote, flexible, and designed for experts who can contribute strong software judgment without prior AI experience.
This is an output-based contract role of about 15 hours per week. Experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications, and minimum submission requirements apply. Selected candidates are expected to begin their first tasks within 24–48 hours after onboarding.
What You'll Do
- Create realistic, interesting, and challenging coding tasks for AI systems to solve.
- Build tasks around feature implementation and bug fixing.
- Implement deterministic verifiers that accept valid solutions and reject invalid ones.
- Use your software engineering judgment to shape high-quality real-world inputs for model training.
Requirements
- Strong backend experience in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Experience building scalable services and APIs.
- Comfort with debugging, performance work, and automated testing.
- Solid code review instincts.
- Strong testing background is a plus, including test strategy, large test suites, flaky test diagnosis, or raising testing standards on a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven backend development experience delivering high-quality, performant projects.
- Experience identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks.
- Experience with codebase refactoring and implementing complex features in large-scale applications.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational computer science concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Process
