About this opportunity
Overview
micro1 is seeking 30 contractors for an AI training project centered on complex, real-world engineering workflows. The work is remote, with U.S.-based candidates preferred and strong relevant experience from other regions also considered.
In this role, you will use your systems architecture background to help define realistic engineering tasks, coordinate input from domain experts, and establish clear technical objectives and evaluation criteria. The work is intended to improve how AI systems reason about architecture, interfaces, dependencies, and engineering trade-offs.
Scope of Work
- Design realistic engineering projects that involve architectural decisions across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, and manufacturing.
- Translate project goals into system architectures with clear boundaries, subsystem responsibilities, interfaces, and technical constraints.
- Break down complex architectural problems into connected tasks with defined inputs, deliverables, dependencies, and expert ownership.
Requirements
- Substantial professional experience as a Systems Architect, Chief Systems Architect, or in a similar technical leadership role.
- Proven ability to own the architecture of complex engineering systems and lead multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong experience with system architecture design, technical trade studies, interface management, and architecture reviews.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
- A relevant master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with model-based systems engineering, SysML, or architecture modeling tools.
- Experience taking system architectures from initial concept through implementation, integration, and deployment.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, industrial systems, medical devices, or other complex engineering environments.
