Overview
micro1 is selecting lawyers for a remote contractor project focused on reviewing and drafting legal documents for a customer. Contributors will help train next-generation AI systems by analyzing sample contracts, identifying risky or problematic clauses, and writing clear explanations for non-lawyers. All engagement data will be public or synthetic, so no confidential or proprietary client information is used.
Scope of Work
- Review sample or template contracts and related legal documents for clarity, enforceability, and risk.
- Identify and explain potentially problematic clauses with detailed written commentary.
- Draft brief memos that summarize findings, key risk areas, and suggested improvements.
- Conduct basic legal research using public sources to support document analysis and recommendations.
- Translate complex legal concepts into plain language for non-lawyer audiences.
- Follow confidentiality and conflict-of-interest protocols while working only with public or synthetic data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree and active or lapsed bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- At least 4 years of practice experience, ideally with document-heavy work such as contracts, compliance, or transactions.
- Strong background in contract drafting, review, and risk assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly.
- Careful, methodical approach to legal analysis and strong attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and conflict management.
- Experience or interest in technology, AI, or legal operations is a plus.
