Overview

micro1 is seeking Japanese Transcription Experts for a remote contractor role supporting a customer project focused on audio transcription and AI training. The work involves helping train next-generation AI systems through high-quality Japanese language input. The posting notes 15 openings.

What You'll Do

• Transcribe Japanese audio samples accurately, including content, context, speaker nuances, and other linguistic details.
• Review, edit, and validate Japanese transcripts for completeness, clarity, and alignment with project guidelines.
• Correct errors, inconsistencies, and ambiguities in machine-generated or human-created transcriptions.
• Annotate audio files or transcripts with relevant metadata and contextual notes when required.
• Collaborate with project managers and other experts to maintain consistency and quality across deliverables.
• Use transcription tools and platforms to process and submit work according to project requirements.
• Contribute linguistic and cultural insights to improve AI model understanding and performance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Japanese with strong comprehension of both spoken and written language.
• Professional experience in audio transcription, linguistic review, localization, or related language work is strongly encouraged.
• Familiarity with transcription conventions, audio review workflows, annotation tools, or speech data projects is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize subtle differences in language, pronunciation, or context.
• Proficiency in English to follow project instructions and manage occasional English-language content.
• Previous participation in AI training data, data annotation, or language technology projects is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to delivering high-quality, timely submissions.
