About this opportunity
Overview
iMerit is onboarding English audio transcribers for an upcoming AI-related project. This is a remote, project-based engagement with a deadline-focused workload, and applicants should be comfortable working in a time-bound environment.
As part of the process, candidates must complete one audio transcription assessment. Based on the score, the HR team will share the next step.
What You'll Do
- Listen to English audio files and transcribe spoken content accurately into text.
- Work with raw audio such as conversations, calls, and other recordings.
- Follow project-specific formatting rules and quality guidelines.
- Review audio for personally identifiable information, sensitive data, privacy risks, safety concerns, policy compliance, and contextual ambiguity.
- Evaluate AI model outputs derived from audio for correctness, completeness, relevance, risk classification, and guideline adherence when applicable.
- Apply changing annotation guidelines consistently and make sound judgments on edge cases.
- Escalate ambiguous cases, tooling issues, and guideline gaps to project leads or quality teams.
- Manage your own schedule and task throughput while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong listening skills.
- Ability to work accurately under strict deadlines.
- Prior transcription or audio annotation experience is a plus.
- Access to a computer, good headphones, and stable internet.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with US English audio transcription.
