About this opportunity
Overview
micro1 is looking for Digital Artists to contribute creative and technical judgment to a project centered on evaluating and improving AI-generated images. This contractor role is remote and limited to applicants in the United States. The work is suited to people with strong visual analysis skills, the ability to give precise critique, and experience creating or reviewing digital imagery.
What You'll Do
- Upload your own original digital images or photographs according to project specifications.
- Compare your work side by side with AI-generated images and document visible differences and deviations.
- Identify problems involving anatomy, color, lighting, perspective, texture, and fine detail.
- Spot and describe common AI artifacts such as warped anatomy, smeared or broken textures, inconsistent shadows, irregular reflections, and text issues.
- Write concise, visually specific feedback using clear technical language and reference the relevant areas of each image.
- Complete careful reviews with an emphasis on accuracy and visual detail rather than speed.
- Work with project coordinators and other contributors to keep image assessments and feedback aligned.
Requirements
- Must be located in the United States and authorized to contract there.
- At least 2 years of experience in digital art, retouching, compositing, 3D rendering, graphic design, color grading, or photography, with a portfolio of original work.
- Ability to use image editing and creation tools such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Procreate, Blender, or similar software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for descriptive and technical visual feedback.
- Ability to detect subtle differences and identify artifacts common in AI-generated images.
- Basic familiarity with AI image generation workflows and typical failure points; experience with Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Firefly, or Flux is a plus.
- Experience in image evaluation, data annotation, or quality assurance for creative or technical projects is helpful.
