Statistician

Overview

micro1 is seeking 50 Statisticians for a remote contractor opportunity supporting a customer project focused on data-driven solutions and AI model training. The work centers on applying statistical expertise to messy, real-world datasets and helping improve how AI systems learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.

What You'll Do

• Clean, preprocess, and structure complex datasets using statistical tools such as R, Python, SAS, or Stata.
• Apply and document descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to identify trends and patterns.
• Create clear data visualizations that help explain findings and support model development.
• Contribute to dataset annotation, labeling, or enrichment where needed for AI training.
• Write concise summaries of methods, analyses, and results for non-technical readers.
• Work asynchronously with project stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and improve deliverables.
• Identify data quality issues and document practical solutions for dirty or incomplete data.

Requirements

• Experience cleaning and preparing messy or dirty datasets.
• Basic knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics, including hypothesis testing and regression analysis.
• Programming ability in Python or R for analysis, manipulation, and visualization.
• Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience with large, unstructured, or noisy datasets.
