About this opportunity

Overview

micro1 is seeking law students and recent law graduates with law journal experience to support a legal citation project. The role is remote, contractor-based, and includes 25 openings. No prior AI experience is required; the focus is on strong Bluebook knowledge, editorial judgment, and citation work experience.

What You'll Do

  • Review Bluebook and pincite grading rubrics and identify rules that are unclear, incomplete, or inconsistently applied.
  • Spot edge cases not covered by the current rubrics and suggest how they should be handled.
  • Create sample cite-checking tasks with source material, citations containing realistic errors, correct answers, and explanations of the relevant rule.
  • Build tasks across different citation types and difficulty levels, from straightforward formatting issues to more subtle pincite and source-support problems.
  • Apply Bluebook rules consistently across all submissions.
  • Escalate ambiguous cases to project coordinators instead of deciding them silently.
  • Deliver assigned work on schedule and at the required quality level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current law student, especially 2L or 3L, or a recent JD graduate.
  • Law review or law journal experience, ideally with cite-checking or source-collection responsibilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of The Bluebook, including pincites, short forms, signals, and parentheticals.
  • Ability to explain why a citation is incorrect, not just what the correction is.
  • Careful, consistent performance during long sessions of detailed review work.
  • Comfort working independently and meeting deadlines without close supervision.
  • Journal editor, articles editor, or executive editor experience is a plus.

Selection Process

  1. Apply and complete the screening questions.
  2. Complete the AI interview to showcase your skills to the client.
  3. Profile review by the hiring team.
  4. Onboarding by the Talent Ops team.
