GitHub Specialist

Overview

micro1 is looking for GitHub Specialists to support a customer project centered on completing and documenting real-world workflows inside GitHub. This contractor role is remote and includes 5 openings. The work is focused on hands-on GitHub execution, clear documentation, and producing high-quality interaction data that can support AI system development.

Scope of Work

• Complete assigned workflows and tasks in GitHub using practical software development and version control experience.
• Work with core GitHub features such as repositories, branches, commits, pull requests, issues, and collaboration tools.
• Create, edit, review, and manage repositories and common GitHub workflows according to provided instructions.
• Use Git and GitHub to carry out standard version control tasks, including branching, merging, commits, and pull requests.
• Record your screen while completing assigned workflows and show the steps taken clearly.
• Write realistic prompts and detailed rubrics based on completed workflows.
• Document workflow steps and explain the GitHub tools, features, and actions used.
• Review task outputs for accuracy and alignment with project guidelines.
• Follow project instructions and quality standards while working independently in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience using GitHub in professional, project-based, or open-source environments.
• Prior human data experience, such as data annotation, labeling, RLHF, AI response evaluation, or model evaluation.
• Current access to GitHub and the ability to use the platform independently.
• Comfort recording and sharing screen captures while completing GitHub workflows.
• Ability to explain technical workflows clearly and accurately.
