French-Canadian Professional Voice Actor

Job Description

Mercor is hiring French-Canadian Voice Actors to work with a leading AI lab on improving how advanced AI models understand and generate audio.

Candidates must be native speakers of Canadian French who were born and raised in Canada.

Professional voice-acting experience is strongly preferred but not required. Applicants with relevant speaking or audio experience in music, television, podcasts, Twitch streaming, comedy, YouTube, radio, or related fields are also encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

• Record Canadian French audio for an AI training project.
• Read provided transcripts with clear pronunciation and consistent pacing.
• Deliver recordings using a neutral-to-upbeat, customer-service-style voice.
• Pay close attention to punctuation, commas, and dashes.
• Record transcripts accurately as written or edit them where appropriate to reflect natural pacing.
• Edit and prepare recordings according to the project's technical requirements.
• Participate in a project kickoff call.

Requirements

• Native Canadian French speaker.
• Must have been born and raised in Canada.
• Proficient English communication skills.
• Clear enunciation and consistent vocal pacing.
• Strong attention to detail when following scripts and recording requirements.
• Ability to commit 2–10 hours per week.
• Professional voice-acting experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Professional Recording Setup Required

Candidates must have a professional home audio setup that includes:

• Professional-grade microphone.
• Appropriate soundproofing.
• Audio interface.
• Pop filter.
• Audio editing software for post-production.

Recordings must be submitted in WAV format at 44.1 kHz and mono, while following the project's additional audio-quality requirements.

Start Timeline

The project uses rolling starts. Onboarding begins once your contract is accepted and identity verification is completed.

Selected participants must also be available for a kickoff call.

Contract & Payment Details

• Independent contractor engagement.
• $300 per finished hour of submitted audio.
• Fully remote with a flexible schedule.
• Expected commitment of 2–10 hours per week.
• Payments are made weekly through Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project needs and performance.
• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not currently supported.
