English Language Specialist – AI Training (Contract)

Overview

iMerit is hiring English Language Specialists to provide careful, native-quality language judgment for multimodal AI systems that combine text, image, video, and audio. The work involves comparing subtle differences in AI outputs, identifying errors that require close review, and producing nuanced annotations for video and image content. This is contract work with flexible scheduling, typically 10-40 hours per week.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate subtle differences between AI-generated outputs.
• Review image outputs and annotations to catch and document errors.
• Annotate objects, actions, and intent in video content.
• Write clear, publication-quality English annotations.
• Work through detailed guidelines with precision and consistency.
• Apply reviewer feedback to improve accuracy over time.
• Handle tasks that may take 2+ hours and require sustained concentration.

Requirements

• Fluent, polished English with strong editorial judgment and nuance.
• At least 1 year of experience in editing, technical writing, translation, journalism, or data annotation.
• Ability to work through long and sometimes ambiguous guidelines and make sound judgment calls.
• AI/ML annotation experience is preferred, but not required.
• Comfort with deep-focus, detail-heavy work.
