Overview
micro1 is seeking Cyber Security Engineers for a customer project focused on helping train next-generation AI systems with real-world technical input. The role is contractor-based, estimated at about 15 hours per week, remote, and offers flexible scheduling. Compensation is output-based and paid per task that meets the project specifications.
What You'll Do
- Analyze, debug, and resolve software bugs and vulnerabilities across diverse codebases.
- Implement new features and improve existing functionality in projects using languages such as Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Refactor legacy code to improve maintainability, security, and performance.
- Perform codebase audits, penetration testing, and security assessments to identify and reduce risk.
- Support backend development and optimize application performance for scalability and security.
- Document findings and suggest improvements that help improve AI training datasets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one or more of the listed languages: Python3, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
- Strong debugging, bug-fixing, and backend development experience on complex systems.
- Background in cybersecurity practices, including pentesting, security audits, and vulnerability assessment.
- Comfort with algorithms, codebase refactoring, and performance optimization.
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with secure software development lifecycles and modern threat landscapes.
- Experience contributing to AI-related or data-driven projects is a plus.
