Bilingual Finnish Generalist Expert – AI Safety

Job Description

Mercor is hiring bilingual Finnish and English speakers to help evaluate and improve the safety of advanced AI models.

You’ll use your Finnish language fluency, cultural understanding, and judgment to assess how AI systems handle sensitive topics. No previous AI or machine learning experience is required, as training on the project workflow will be provided.

What You’ll Do

• Write expert-level prompts in Finnish across a range of sensitive subject areas.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and AI conversations.
• Identify adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns.
• Document clear reasoning behind your classifications and evaluations.
• Help assess and strengthen how AI models handle sensitive and dual-use information.

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Finnish.
• Business-level written English.
• Bachelor’s degree completed or currently in progress.
• Strong written reasoning and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Sound judgment when evaluating sensitive or dual-use information.
• Ability to consistently follow structured evaluation guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Based in Finland or the wider Western Europe region — preferred but not required, and applicants elsewhere may apply.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content.
• Background in trust & safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing.

Contract & Payment Details

This is a fully remote, part-time independent contractor opportunity starting immediately. Work can be completed on your own schedule.

Compensation is $48–$52 per hour, with payments made weekly through Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.

The project may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project needs and performance.
