Job Description
micro1 is hiring 100 Video Data Collectors across the UK, Canada, India, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia for a remote AI training project.
You’ll record natural first-person footage of everyday activities. During the initial phase, participants can begin using a personal smartphone with a head strap while company-provided Insta360 equipment is being prepared.
Later phases will involve using company-provided video equipment, including Insta360 X-series cameras, to complete recording assignments across approved environments.
No prior AI experience is required.
What You’ll Do
- Record natural first-person video footage of everyday activities.
- Initially record using your personal smartphone with a head strap.
- Set up and operate Insta360 X-series cameras during subsequent phases.
- Manage video files and use Insta360 Studio to reframe and export footage according to project specifications.
- Perform basic troubleshooting involving camera settings, storage, file transfers, and exports.
- Identify appropriate recording locations within approved settings.
- Record across home, public, commercial, and outdoor environments as assigned.
- Follow project requirements concerning privacy, consent, safety, and metadata.
- Coordinate group recordings when assignments require additional participants.
- Ensure required written consent and permissions are obtained for group activities.
- Maintain consistent video and data quality.
- Communicate progress, problems, and questions to project coordinators.
Requirements
- Experience with video recording or similar data-collection activities is preferred.
- Reliable access to a high-quality personal smartphone suitable for video recording during the initial phase.
- Ability to follow detailed recording and submission instructions.
- Strong attention to privacy, consent, metadata, and data-quality requirements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable completing approved recording assignments in both home and public environments.
- Ability to adapt to changing workflows and equipment.
- Ability to coordinate with others when group recording assignments are required.
Preferred Experience
Experience using an Insta360 X-series camera, such as the X3, X4, or X5, is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with INSV files and Insta360 Studio for reframing and exporting footage is also preferred. Current ownership of an Insta360 X-series camera is a plus but is not stated as mandatory.
Equipment
During the initial phase, participants will use their own suitable smartphone with a head strap.
For subsequent phases, the project will transition participants to company-provided video equipment and updated recording workflows.
Contract & Compensation
This is a remote contractor opportunity with 100 openings across the specified eligible countries.
Compensation is advertised at $8–$17 per hour.
