PCB Tool Specialist

Overview

Rex is looking for PCB design specialists to help train AI systems on professional PCB workflows. The role focuses on documenting your process from schematic capture through manufacturing outputs, validating PCB designs and circuit simulations, and reviewing AI-generated PCB advice for errors.

What You'll Do

• Take a design from schematic capture through PCB layout to manufacturing outputs in your preferred PCB tool.
• Run design-rule checks, verification, and troubleshooting for performance and manufacturability.
• Document your design strategy, electrical reasoning, and layout decisions.
• Validate PCB designs and circuit simulations for correctness and clarity.
• Review AI-generated PCB advice and designs for mistakes.
• Participate in calibration and review sessions and incorporate feedback to maintain consistent quality.

Requirements

• Expert-level, hands-on experience with a PCB tool such as Altium Designer, KiCad, DesignSpark PCB, or LibrePCB.
• Background as an electronics, hardware, or PCB layout engineer.
• Experience with multi-layer boards and manufacturing packages such as BOMs and Gerbers.
• Clear written English.
• Ability to work independently, stay detail-oriented, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• High-speed digital or power-electronics design experience.
• Published tutorials or open-source hardware designs.
• Experience mentoring others on EDA tools.
