About this opportunity
Overview
micro1 is engaging Life Sciences Research Assistants for a customer project focused on building next-generation AI benchmarks. The work is remote and contractor-based, and selected experts are expected to begin onboarding and first tasks within 24–48 hours after onboarding completion. There are 50 openings.
What You’ll Do
- Design and author expert-level evaluation tasks in the life sciences domain.
- Build tasks around authentic research artifacts and technical challenges rather than simplified or hypothetical examples.
- Create scenarios such as experimental design critique, protocol analysis, and primary data interpretation.
- Source and synthesize research materials, including raw data, lab protocols, technical literature, and supplementary documents.
- Document the correct methodological approach and biological interpretation for each task.
- Develop multi-item rubrics that assess methodological rigor, data interpretation, and source fidelity for LLM evaluation.
- Work asynchronously with project coordinators to refine deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on research or laboratory experience with primary data analysis and scientific protocols.
- Experience with protocol-driven, multi-source scientific workflows.
- Strong scientific reasoning, source synthesis, and methodological evaluation skills.
- Strong written English skills, including drafting or reviewing scientific documentation.
- Comfort working with CSVs, spreadsheets, PDFs, and technical documents.
- Careful attention to rubric fidelity and objective task design.
