Chemist

Overview

Rex is looking for practising chemists to help evaluate AI answers to applied chemistry questions. The work focuses on reviewing synthesis, analysis, laboratory practice, and materials-related responses, as well as creating prompts and reference answers at a professional level.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI responses to applied chemistry questions.
• Write prompts and reference answers at a professional standard.
• Identify unsafe or incorrect chemical procedures and explain the correct approach.
• Apply project rubrics consistently.
• Review the work of other experts for accuracy.
• Take part in calibration and review sessions and incorporate feedback to maintain consistent quality.

Requirements

• Degree in chemistry or the chemical sciences.
• Professional laboratory or industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety.
• Excellent written English.
• Ability to work independently, stay reliable, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with analytical instrumentation such as NMR, HPLC, or GC-MS.
• Safety or regulatory training.
• Prior AI training experience.

Important Guidelines

• Do not write, request, or submit synthesis routes, formulations, quantities, or operational details for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive weapons, or for illicit drugs.
• If a task, model output, or guideline includes such content, stop, do not reproduce it, and report it to the project team.
• Safety-related responses must remain at the level of general hazard awareness and appropriate safety practice.
• All submissions must be lawful, and you must have the right to share the content you provide.
• Confidential, proprietary, or personal data may not be submitted without a lawful basis.
• Engagement and payment are subject to verification and applicable sanctions, export-control, tax, and employment laws.
• The contractor agreement will cover ownership and licensing terms for the work delivered, to be confirmed by Rex Legal.
