Job Description
Turing is hiring experienced Python and JavaScript/TypeScript developers to work on projects focused on training, evaluating, and improving advanced AI models.
This role combines software engineering with hands-on AI training work, including model evaluation, response ranking, Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT), RLHF, dataset development, and code review.
What You’ll Do
- Write and maintain high-quality code used to train and optimize AI models.
- Conduct evaluations to benchmark AI model performance.
- Evaluate and rank AI-generated responses against predefined criteria.
- Write clear technical rationales explaining your evaluations.
- Contribute to Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) and development of task-specific datasets.
- Support Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback (RLHF) workflows.
- Create and refine high-quality reference responses to improve model performance.
- Develop evaluation strategies for AI quality and alignment.
- Review code and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with researchers, annotators, engineers, and other project teams.
- Explore new tools and techniques for improving AI training workflows.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with Node.js or NestJS.
- Experience with at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Docker knowledge is mandatory.
- Experience building web applications using modular and scalable architectures.
- Ability to write readable, reusable, secure, and maintainable code.
- Strong understanding of software testing and code quality.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Preferred Experience
- Software Quality Assurance or test planning experience.
- Test-driven development (TDD).
- Experience working with LLMs.
- Familiarity with prompting tools such as ChatGPT.
- Previous exposure to AI evaluation, SFT, or RLHF is beneficial.
Evaluation Process
The evaluation takes approximately 75 minutes across two rounds:
- Technical Interview – 60 minutes
- Cultural & Offer Discussion – 15 minutes
