Overview
micro1 is engaging 25 equity research experts for a remote contractor project supporting a customer’s financial analysis and AI training work. The role focuses on advanced equity research, modeling, and sector insight, with no prior AI experience required.
What You'll Do
- Review and assess datasets that reflect real-world equity research work, with an emphasis on accuracy and relevance.
- Analyze earnings reports, estimate revisions, and peer benchmarking inputs for AI training purposes.
- Prepare detailed written evaluations of company models, including revenue, margin, cash flow, and valuation drivers.
- Write concise research summaries and event-driven updates based on sector expertise.
- Develop and explain investment theses by connecting qualitative and quantitative factors.
- Identify industry trends, sector-specific metrics, and company catalysts relevant to fundamental analysis.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to improve data quality and research-related content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a sell-side Research Associate with direct ownership of company models and written research, or as a publishing/lead Research Analyst.
- Experience independently covering multiple companies through several earnings cycles while maintaining comprehensive models.
- Ability to connect business drivers to financial outcomes and valuation.
- Deep expertise in at least one sector, such as banks, insurance, or biotech.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex financial concepts clearly.
- Background in granular earnings analysis, peer benchmarking, valuation, and event-driven research updates.
- Experience building and defending investment theses with accountability for research accuracy and quality.
