Overview
Welocalize is seeking a British Sign Language (BSL) Video Quality Specialist to join its UK-based team supporting video quality work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The role is a 12-month contract with possible extension and follows a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week on UK Standard Time.
Employment details: Contract role, UK location, 12-month project duration with possible extension, and a schedule of either 08:30-17:00 or 09:00-17:30 UK Standard Time with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The shift pattern is Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday. Candidates must have valid UK work authorization and no sponsorship requirement.
What You'll Do
- Review and assess digital video content with a focus on British Sign Language and spoken dialogue verification.
- Use technical video knowledge to identify and troubleshoot playback or system issues.
- Work in a changing, high-volume environment while responding quickly to issues.
- Recognize patterns in recurring problems and help propose both short-term and long-term solutions.
- Apply video editing experience and operational judgment to support content quality workflows.
Requirements
- British Sign Language proficiency is essential.
- 2-4 years of experience working with digital video.
- Strong understanding of common technical issues in digital video and audio.
- Background and work experience in video editing.
- Ability to take initiative and troubleshoot video or system playback issues.
- Track record of responding quickly and decisively to issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of subscription video content services and their product offerings.
- Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Professional or advanced proficiency in another language is a plus.
