Overview

Welocalize is seeking qualified freelance sign language interpreters to support corporate customers with Deaf and hard of hearing team members. This is a freelance, independent contractor opportunity with engagements that vary based on project need and assignment scope.

What You'll Do

  • Provide sign language interpretation for a range of corporate and event-based engagements.
  • Support communication in conferences, workshops, product launches, employee meetings, trainings, and townhalls.
  • Interpret for healthcare-related appointments and screenings when needed.
  • Assist with music performances and concerts, typically as part of conference programming.
  • Adapt to engagement-specific requirements, including specialized settings such as courts or healthcare.

Requirements

  • Fluency in a designated sign language.
  • Professional sign language interpreting qualification and/or registration with a national association such as RID/NIC for ASL or NRCPD for the UK.
  • Familiarity with interpreter codes of ethics.
  • Interpreting experience in healthcare, employee relations, and/or conference interpreting.
  • Ability to meet additional domain-specific requirements on a per-engagement basis.

  • Conferences across industries such as technology, life sciences, and finance.
  • C-suite keynotes and product launches.
  • Workshops and breakout sessions.
  • HR and management meetings, onsite or remote trainings, and townhalls.
