Remote Data Contributor (US) - Spanish

Overview

TransPerfect is looking for parents or legal guardians in the United States to participate with their children in the Lantana Audio Collection project. The goal is to collect natural speech from children to help improve speech recognition technology for educational settings.

This is a fully remote project. The parent or guardian will use a mobile app to record the child completing the tasks, and submissions will be reviewed for quality and eligibility before approval. The project allows partial submissions only for certain age groups.

What You'll Do

• Record your child using the provided mobile app.
• Guide the child through simple speech tasks, including naming everyday objects, numbers, letters, and colors.
• Have the child count aloud to 50, or as far as they can go.
• Follow the project guidelines and ensure the submission meets the required quality standards.

Who Is Eligible

• You must be over 18 years old.
• You must be the child's legal guardian and able to sign the Parental Consent Form.
• You must have a smartphone capable of downloading and using the app for recording.
• Each child must be between 5 and 11 years old.
• Each child must be a resident of the United States.
• Each child must be a native speaker of Spanish (US).

Project Details

• The estimated total time is up to 60 minutes for all 5 tasks.
• Approximate time breakdown: about 30 minutes for the parent or guardian to review the guidelines, plus up to 30 minutes for the child to complete the recording tasks.
• Payment methods may include PayPal, gift card, check, or wire transfer, depending on preference.
• Submissions are subject to quality assurance review before payment approval.
