Overview
Welocalize is looking for experienced Portuguese Brazilian copy editors and translators for a long-term freelance project with a leading multinational company. This is an ongoing remote independent contractor opportunity with expected weekly volume of 5,000+ words. Agencies are also welcome to apply.
Project Details
- Work arrangement: Remote freelance / independent contract
- Task types: Translation, copy-editing, and MTPE
- Content areas: Marketing, UI, product, support, informational, and legal content
- Tooling: Client-specific CAT tool, with training provided during onboarding
Requirements
- Native or near-native Brazilian Portuguese proficiency with excellent English skills
- At least 2 years of professional translation experience plus a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field; or 5+ years of professional translation experience without a formal translation degree
- Proven experience translating from English into Brazilian Portuguese across multiple content types, including informational, marketing, UI, product, and support material
- Experience using CAT tools
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality translations on deadline in a fast-paced localization environment
- Good communication, responsiveness, reliability, and openness to feedback and revisions
What You'll Be Doing
- Translate and copy-edit English content into Brazilian Portuguese
- Perform MTPE work for client content
- Handle a mix of business-critical content types, including marketing, UI, product, support, informational, and legal materials
- Work within the client-specific CAT tool provided during onboarding
- Maintain quality and consistency while meeting ongoing weekly volume targets
