Polish Subject Matter Expert – AI Audio Transcription (AI Training)

Overview

Alignerr is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead a Polish audio transcription project. This is a fully remote hourly contract role, with hours that may vary depending on project demand, team needs, and overall project volume. The position is especially relevant for candidates in London’s Polish-speaking community, though the role itself is remote.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support Polish-specific labelers and reviewers throughout the project.
• Act as the primary language and project SME, answering questions on transcription, labeling, and Polish-language edge cases.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality standards across the project.
• Monitor team performance and identify recurring issues, trends, and areas where more guidance is needed.
• Review work through regular audits and provide clear, actionable feedback.
• Manage project communication and questions through Discord.
• Host office hours to clarify guidelines and support the labeling and reviewing teams.
• Surface ambiguities or gaps in project guidelines and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Participate in team meetings, calibration sessions, and project discussions.
• Help align labelers and reviewers so guidelines are applied consistently.
• Share project updates, changes, and quality expectations with the language team.
• Work with Project Operators and Project Managers to resolve quality, workflow, and performance concerns.

Requirements

• Native proficiency in Polish.
• Strong command of Polish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, regional variation, and natural spoken usage.
• Experience in audio transcription, data labeling, linguistic annotation, quality assurance, or AI/ML data projects is preferred.
• Ability to spot subtle linguistic, transcription, and labeling errors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Polish.
• Experience coaching, giving feedback, or leading teams is preferred.
• Comfort working independently and balancing multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with Discord or similar collaboration tools.

Nice to Have

• Background in linguistics, translation, localization, or language education.
• Experience with AI training data pipelines or annotation platforms.
• Familiarity with regional Polish speech patterns and dialectal variation.
• Previous quality assurance or team leadership experience in a remote or distributed setting.
