Physics Expert

Overview

Rex is seeking physicists to help train and evaluate AI models on physics content. In this remote role, you will work on reading physics materials, creating and reviewing problems, validating analytical solutions, and identifying errors in model reasoning. The role is available in all countries. Compensation is USD $50–80 per hour, adjusted by country of residence.

What You'll Do

• Read and summarise physics papers and technical documents.
• Write and review problems across a range of physics topics.
• Extract key data, carry out detailed calculations, and check analytical solutions.
• Find and correct errors in AI-generated physical reasoning, units, and arithmetic.
• Write rubrics and reference solutions.
• Provide structured written feedback on model outputs.
• Follow project guidelines and participate in calibration and review sessions, incorporating feedback to maintain consistency and quality.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in physics or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in academia, a laboratory, or industry.
• Broad command of core physics, including classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Excellent written English.
• Ability to work independently, stay reliable and detail-oriented, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI, EdTech, or educational content creation.
• Publications or peer-review experience.
• Experience with simulation or data-analysis tools.

• Engagement and payment are subject to successful verification and applicable sanctions, export-control, tax, and employment laws.
• The contractor agreement will define ownership and licence terms for delivered work, to be confirmed by Rex Legal.
