Overview
Turing is seeking a remote Ph.D. / Postdoctoral / Master’s Expert to contribute to projects that help fine-tune large language models through STEM problem design, solution writing, and evaluation-focused work. The role is aimed at candidates with a strong foundation in STEM, especially physics, and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and logically.
What You'll Do
- Design challenging STEM problems to probe model limitations.
- Write clear, high-quality, step-by-step solutions with well-supported reasoning.
- Work with LLM researchers to align tasks with evaluation goals.
- Focus on areas where models often struggle, such as abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and symbolic manipulation.
- Help define new evaluation benchmarks based on physics curricula from early undergraduate through PhD-level topics.

- Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations.

- Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or holding a Master’s, Ph.D., or postdoctoral degree in STEM, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- Ability to solve complex physics problems using a structured, logical approach.
- Ability to explain STEM concepts using simple language, visuals, and physics reasoning.
Additional Details
This is a contractor assignment/freelancer engagement with no medical or paid leave. The role is fully remote and may be extended based on performance and project needs.
