Overview
Lionbridge Games is hiring a part-time temporary Localization Tester in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. The role focuses on localization quality assurance for games across consoles and platforms, with work centered on identifying linguistic issues and validating translation quality and cultural appropriateness.
What You'll Do
- Test games across consoles and platforms as part of localization QA.
- Identify linguistic issues by playing recently released and unreleased games from indie titles to AAA productions.
- Check the quality of translation and whether localized content is culturally appropriate.
- Run assigned test cases accurately and efficiently.
- Document bugs clearly and concisely in a bug database.
- Coordinate and communicate with other team members to produce coherent test results.
- Provide constructive feedback that helps improve game quality and player experience.
Requirements
- Native-level proficiency in one of the listed languages: Spanish, Korean, English US, Traditional Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Indonesian, Thai, or Japanese.
- English proficiency above conversational level.
- Extensive gaming experience and current knowledge of different game genres.
- Experience playing games in your native language.
- Creativity and strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Game testing or translation experience.
- Student or working holiday visa holders are welcome to apply.
Schedule
- Availability of 20-40 hours per week is required.
- Work shifts are limited to 10:00-19:00, 10:00-14:00, or 15:00-19:00.
- The standard business-day schedule is 10:00-19:00 with an 8-hour workday and 1-hour break, though assignment schedules may vary by project and contract.
