Freelance English to Vietnamese Translator - Legal & Insurance

Overview

TransPerfect is seeking freelance linguists for English-to-Vietnamese translation work focused on legal and insurance content. The role involves translating and proofreading documents for a range of clients, working with Project Managers and under manager guidance to help finalize deliverables before they are sent to the client. The company notes that this work can be done remotely from anywhere in the world.

What You'll Do

• Translate documents from English into Vietnamese.
• Proofread translated content before client delivery.
• Support Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM workflows as needed.
• Work on content in the legal and insurance sectors.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and follow direction from your manager.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Vietnamese.
• Specialization in legal fields.
• Strong attention to detail, including spelling and grammar accuracy.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, including when working under tight deadlines.
• Must meet at least one of the following: a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or an equivalent program with significant translation training; 2 years of translation experience plus a college degree; 5 years of translation experience without a college degree; or a certificate of competence in translation from an appropriate government body.
• Applicants will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.
• Applicants may be required to complete free Translation, MTPE, and/or Proofreading/QM tests to evaluate skills.
• CV should include relevant Translation, MTPE, and Proofreading/QM experience, plus proposed best per-word rates in USD.
