Copyeditor

Overview

TransPerfect is seeking a meticulous Copyeditor for a long-term freelance contract that may lead to additional project opportunities within its wider freelance talent pool. The role focuses primarily on Amazon product listings, along with theme-related text and other ad hoc content as needed. The editor will help ensure content is clear, accurate, consistent, compliant, and aligned with brand and platform standards before publication.

Work arrangement: Remote work, with US Eastern timezone availability required.

What You'll Do

• Proofread and edit copy for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting to a US English standard.
• Check product data, names, measurements, and facts for accuracy and consistency.
• Identify issues such as character-limit breaches, structural problems, forbidden terms, and D&I considerations.
• Work from style guides, approved names files, and briefs, and collaborate with writers to resolve questions.
• Adapt to different content types and project requirements as assignments come in.

Requirements

• Proven copyediting or proofreading experience, ideally in e-commerce, retail, or marketing content.
• Native-level US English and a strong eye for detail.
• Ability to work accurately at volume and meet deadlines.
• Comfort working within established guidelines and knowing when to flag issues rather than fix them independently.
• Flexibility to move between content types.
• Familiarity with Amazon listing requirements is a plus.
