About this opportunity

Overview

Rex is looking for circuit design experts to help train and evaluate AI systems focused on electronic hardware, simulation, and programmatic EDA workflows. In this role, you will work from circuit requirements, run simulations and verification steps, and assess whether designs satisfy electrical and functional constraints. Compensation is USD $80–150 per hour, adjusted by country of residence.

What You'll Do

  • Convert circuit requirements into netlists or hardware descriptions, or modify existing designs as needed.
  • Run simulation, synthesis, or verification tasks from the command line and interpret the results.
  • Review AI-generated circuit solutions and identify faulty assumptions, invalid configurations, and unsupported conclusions.
  • Evaluate component choices, tolerances, failure modes, and design trade-offs.
  • Explain circuit behavior and your reasoning clearly in writing.
  • Follow project guidelines, participate in calibration and review sessions, and incorporate feedback to maintain quality consistency.

Requirements

  • BS in electrical engineering plus 1–2 years of circuit-design experience.
  • Experience with at least one EDA, circuit-simulation, PCB, or HDL tool that supports scripting or a programmatic interface, such as ngspice, Xyce, Yosys, Verilator, or KiCad scripting.
  • Strong understanding of circuit behavior and design trade-offs.
  • Clear written English.
  • Ability to work independently, stay reliable and detail-oriented, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mixed-signal or RF design experience.
  • Python.
  • Experience with high-speed digital or power electronics.

Rights, Confidentiality, and Data Handling

  • Submit only work you created yourself or that you have the right to share.
  • Do not submit material covered by employer, client, or third-party confidentiality obligations, or anything you do not have the right to share.
  • Do not submit export-controlled, military, or defense-related technical data.
  • Remove credentials, secrets, and personal data from any submission.
  • Rex may request evidence of ownership or licensing, verify submissions, and reject or remove submissions that do not meet requirements.

Legal and Compliance Notice

  • All submitted content must be lawful, and you must have the right to share it.
  • Do not submit confidential or proprietary material belonging to an employer, client, or third party, or personal data without a lawful basis.
  • Rex may verify identity, credentials, ownership, and licensing, and may reject or remove submissions or report unlawful submissions to the relevant authorities.
  • Engagement and payment are subject to verification and applicable sanctions, export-control, tax, and employment laws.
  • The contractor agreement will define ownership and license terms for delivered work, to be confirmed by Rex Legal.
